It is with deep regret that the Chief of the Gilford Fire-Rescue Department announces the passing of Retired Chief Michael D. Mooney. Chief Mooney served the Gilford Fire-Rescue Department from 1971 until his retirement in October 2005. During that time period Chief Mooney also served as the President of the New England Fire Chiefs Association, President of the New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs, President of the Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid Association and was Chairman of the NH Board of Fire Control.

Calling hours were Thursday April 10^th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Wilkinson Beane Funeral Home on Pleasant Street in Laconia.

Funeral Service was held on Friday April 11^th at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Church St on Laconia. Burial was at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. _______________________________________________________________________________

Boston, MA Local 718 Vice President Robert Kilduff died March 13 after a courageous five-year battle with occupational cancer. ?I would be hard-pressed to find a fire fighter more dedicated to the fire service than Brother Kilduff,? says IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger. ?When he learned he had cancer, he never thought about himself. He dedicated the rest of his life to making sure other fire fighters understood the importance of early detection.?
